Monthly focus to support emotional wellbeing and mental health for your family

In September we introduced The Zones of Regulation across the school to aid emotional literacy and encourage the staff and children to recognise and name their feelings. You can find more information on our website in the Wellbeing section under Zones of Regulation.
Can your family recognise what zone they are in at different times of the day? Can you develop your own family check in and toolkit?
Have a look at this clip and try to make your own.
In October our emotional wellbeing focus is all about ‘Practicing Gratitude’ or ‘Being Thankful’. Did you know people who regularly practice gratitude, by taking time to notice and reflect upon the things they're thankful for, experience more positive emotions, feel more alive, sleep better, express more compassion and kindness, and even have stronger immune systems.
In school we are celebrating what we are thankful for by writing them down and sticking them on the ‘Gratitude Tree’ in The Zone. We are also encouraging each other to think about ‘What went well today’.
Can you create a place to display what you are thankful for as a family? Can you share with each other ‘What went well today?’
