Year 6 reply to their Spanish Pen pals
Since last year, Eastbury Farm has enjoyed a language partnership with Colegio Sagrado Corazón de Jesus, a primary school in Pontevedra situated in the region of Galicia, the north west of Spain. Our schools have been exchanging letters between the pupils, with every child assigned their own pen pal, to whom they write every term. Pupils from the school write in Spanish and their pen pals in Spain write back in English, so both sides can practice what they have been learning in class.
So far this year, year 6s have just received the first letters from their Spanish pen pals and have started to work on their replies. As well as writing about themselves and their area they will be sharing their hobbies and interests. This is a great way to encourage the children to write in Spanish and put in practice what they have been learning during the last 3 years. Our letters will be en-route to Spain soon and we cannot wait to see what will receive next.
Watch out for a display in school later in the year about this exchange!
