Equalities

Our equality vision for Eastbury Farm Primary School is in line with our whole school vision, ethos and values.  We aim to nurture and develop our children for the future.  We do this by embracing diversity and celebrating our multicultural community.  We have developed an inclusive environment based on mutual respect.

Activities that demonstrate our commitment to our public sector equality duty include:

  • Ensuring we continue to develop the range of books in our school library that mirror every child and family make-up in our school community
  • Inviting and encouraging visitors to our school to share their religious beliefs and cultural beliefs
  • Ensuring access for all children by continuing to develop our facilities to support children with disabilities
  • Through our curriculum, assemblies and visitors encourage equal opportunities for girls and boys, avoiding gender stereotypes.
  • Ensuring children feel safe online by embedding e-safety in our curriculum, highlighting 'safer internet day' and providing support to parents on 'online' safety
  • Pupils leaders leading charity fundraising events in order to create an awareness of the struggles that others may have
  • Regardless of the level of external support available, being relentless in our aim to support pupils to overcome barriers to learning
